visiting these I found places to photograph some other TC already known, others, such as in towns and Sonnino Sezze not yet seen. The surprise (?) Was greater than in finding a Sonnino, a town far from the ancient Roman ruins, whereas the ancient town of Privernum, a few miles away, is just around the corner. So the interpretation that is reused for the construction of medieval buildings is not feasible, but may have been carved on limestone, at a later date to Roman rule. While in the town of Sezze the discovery of a TC post in the perimeter wall of the church of S. Anna, in a vertical position, it makes the reuse of the stone.
Fossanova the Cistercian Abbey of the TC are placed, as usual in the churches and abbeys, the perimeter of the cloister with other symbols, alquerque, square and rectangular (5) rounded at the base of the elongated part. All
however can be traced back, as is the reuse of ancient Roman material as incision next to buildings XII - XIII century.
A Sonnino can be found within the country as well as medieval Sezze. For Abbey Fossanova stones used with the engravings could come from existing adjoining Roman baths within the Abbey itself.
